Editorial Guidelines and Policies
- Please submit your contribution as a Word document (rather than a PDF). No other formats will be accepted.
- Papers are accepted for publication on the assumption that they have not been previously published elsewhere either in part or whole.
- In-line hyperlinks are mandatory in acknowledging sources. Use either scholarly journals, credible periodicals and newspapers as sources. We fact check every article we publish.
- British English spelling and terminology should be used.
- We will contact you only if we will accept your piece. If you do not hear from us within seven business days, you may feel free to submit the manuscript to another publication.
- Please submit your article to only one publication. Please do NOT submit to multiple editors. This is a courtesy to The Viyug and the other publications as well.
- Plagiarism (even inadvertent) will not be tolerated. All submissions will be screened. Any published articles found that takes credit for someone else’s words or ideas will be removed.
- Avoid technical language or industry jargon. The Viyug believes in making big ideas accessible to all.
- Please include your full name and title with a short biography (50 words maximum) and a photo/headshot.
The ideal article for submissions should strike a balance: It should spark debate among specialists but also engage a general interest reader.
Before you pitch us, keep a few things in mind:
- Read our Website. It’s the best way to get a sense of what we like and the easiest way to avoid sending us something we’ve already covered.
- Keep it specific. Our most successful published articles have a narrow focus.
- Unless you’re a government official, refrain from sending us anything that refers to “our” interests “abroad.” Our readers span the globe.
- Cite your sources. Whether that’s original research, a hyperlink or an interview.
- Steer clear of wonky, technical language. The Viyug believes in making writing accessible to the widest possible audience.
Note: The Viyug provides nominal remuneration for submissions that are published with us. However, at this moment we provide in only in India (INR).
