At The Viyug, we deeply value authentic, human efforts, well-researched and editorially sound content. As generative artificial intelligence (AI) rapidly reshapes the digital publishing landscape, it has become increasingly difficult to analyse the utilisation of AI tools in the writing processes and submissions. While we acknowledge the powerful assistance AI offers–especially for non-native English speakers and independent writers–we must also safeguard the integrity, originality and data security of every piece published under The Viyug’s banner.
Given our reliance on external submissions and the growing complexity of AI usage, we have adopted a two-front approach to responsibly incorporate AI while maintaining editorial integrity and data ownership. If your submission does not involve the usage of AI, kindly refer to the general submission guidelines here.
Our Two-Front Approach to Managing AI in Submissions
1. Declaration-Based AI Usage Transparency
Writers are now required to clearly disclose how AI was used in the creation of their submission. This step is mandatory for every external submission. The declaration must include the following details:
Nature of AI Usage: Was AI used for
- Brainstorming ideas?
- Grammar and Sentence Restructuring?
- Generating portions of the article?
- Citations finding, fact-checking and others?
Extent of AI-Generated Content: Authors must specify the estimated percentage (or just word count) of AI-generated text in the final draft. For example: if your submission is a 900-word article, 200 words are AI-generated then it’s 22.22%. Kindly ensure that the percentage of AI-generated text is less than 25%. Highlight the words that are AI-generated. The nominal remuneration offered for accepted submissions is inversely proportional to the percentage of AI-generated content involved in the draft.
Supporting Documentation
Kindly submit both the original draft (before any AI assistance) and the final draft intended for editorial review and publishing consideration. If the original draft is unavailable, submit screenshots or exported transcripts of the AI interaction (e.g., chat exports or system logs or prompt history).
In summary, you are required to submit the original draft (or screenshots or exported transcripts in lieu of the original) along with final draft (highlighting AI-generated texts or declaration of AI usage accordingly). This declaration ensures transparency while allowing us to verify the editorial authenticity and fair remuneration process.
2. Submission Approach via The Viyug’s AI Studio
To streamline faster processing of submissions and reduce over-dependence on third-party AI tools, The Viyug has developed its own enterprise grade AI-studio, featuring fine-tuned, lightweight AI models tailored to our publishing and editorial standards.
Key Features of Viyug’s AI Studio
Task-Specific Models: Designed for grammar correction, sentence restructuring and clarity enhancement – without generating new content.
No Hallucinations, Repetitions or Copyright Risks: Our models are trained and customised for accuracy, consistency and compliance.
Isolated & Secured Processing: All data is processed natively within dedicated, globally-secured data centres, eliminating third-party data exposure.
Editorial Alignment: These models ensure that submissions meet The Viyug’s stylistic and tonal expectations with minimal human intervention.
The service is available (for free) if you are seeking to contribute your expertise with us at least twice a month with further long-term commitments for publishing with us. To request access to the AI Studio, kindly email to editor@viyug.org.in with your original draft (must not be processed with any AI).

Why this Policy Matters
Given the difficulty of detecting AI-generated text and the limited bandwidth of our editorial team, these guidelines protect both The Viyug and its contributors. They allow us to:
- Focus editorial resources on core product delivery–not chasing AI misuse.
- Support contributors with professional-grade tools without compromising data sovereignty.
- Uphold the authenticity, credibility, trust and legal ownership of all published content.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
No. AI is not banned, but its usage must be transparently declared. We are committed to working with contributors who use AI responsibly.
Yes. Even minimal AI involvement–such as for grammar and titles–must be clearly declared. Declaration can be either included the submission file or within the body of email.
You must provide screenshots or exported chat logs from the AI tool to demonstrate your writing process. You can instead use our AI studio to bypass this criterion. Original drafts are required especially when your submission involves AI-generated texts.
Irrespective of whether an AI usage declaration is made, all submissions undergo editorial processing. If we detect or reasonably suspect AI involvement, we may request additional documentation. We also consult with industry experts during this process. Therefore, without a proper declaration, we cannot guarantee faster processing of your submission.
Yes. Declarations regarding how AI is used are mandatory. To use our AI Studio, you must submit a copy of your original draft, which must not have been previously processed with any AI tool. However, prompt logs, screenshots and other records are not required, as our AI models are engineered specifically to avoid generating new content and cannot be used for that purpose.
